mStock charges: three worked examples
Each example adds up every charge on a round trip (buy and sell). The delivery and intraday examples buy and sell ₹1,00,000 of shares once each. The options example buys premium worth ₹50,000 and sells it for ₹60,000. Amounts are rounded to the nearest paisa and leave out tiny exchange investor-protection levies.
| Charge | Delivery (₹1,00,000 buy and sell) | Intraday (₹1,00,000 buy and sell) | Options (₹50,000 buy, ₹60,000 sell) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brokerage | ₹20.00 | ₹20.00 | ₹20.00 |
| STT | ₹200.00 | ₹25.00 | ₹90.00 |
| Exchange transaction charges | ₹6.14 | ₹6.14 | ₹39.08 |
| SEBI turnover fee | ₹0.20 | ₹0.20 | ₹0.11 |
| Stamp duty | ₹15.00 | ₹3.00 | ₹1.50 |
| GST | ₹4.74 | ₹4.74 | ₹10.65 |
| DP charge on the sell | ₹21.24 | ₹0.00 | ₹0.00 |
| Total charges | ₹267.32 | ₹59.08 | ₹161.35 |
| Total as % of turnover | 0.267% | 0.059% | 0.147% |
Two things stand out. A flat ₹10 per order is cheaper than the ₹20 flat fee at many brokers for small orders, but unlike brokers with free delivery it also applies to delivery trades. STT is still the largest cost on a delivery trade. Profit or loss on the trade itself is not included, and neither is income tax on gains.
How mStock charges compare

Who should read this mStock review
Active traders who place many small orders see the benefit of the flat ₹10 fee. Long-term investors pay ₹10 on every delivery order, so compare with brokers that offer free delivery. This is not personalised investment advice.
